C & C photo before and after editing

Canon t50 400 film with telephoto lens. I think I was using 1.8 aperature. Heres the original before I used some fill light in Corel paintshop pro.upfillflash.jpg and here is the after

You did an admirable job with the lighting and skin tone in post-processing. Unfortunately, the composition kills it for me from the start. The bottom of the photo cuts off too close to the elbows, and all you see of the daddy (presumed) is parts of his hat, forehead, and glasses.

the facial expression, however, is adorable

you brought out the kid well, but unfortunately it brought out the background too much for my liking. tough to "fix" in post as the original shot was not well shot to begin with. I love that expression on his face...adorable.
