Mike,
what's wrong with saying cheese? Not everyone feels comfortable in front of the camera  and I'm speaking from personal experience. I spend more time behind then in front & on my wedding photographer who was shooting it had to take out funny silly glasses, b/c I was a wrack before the ceremony.
