"I have some definite ideas about photography. I don't think that any photograph should be only an exact reproduction of what's in front of the lens without any more emotion or content than that. Perhaps that is why I don't care for the typical sit-in-front-of a backdrop-all-dressed-up kind of portrait photography. These are the kind of results that come from virtually all chain studios. There is no individuality or any personality that shines through.
And that's what I try to achieve. Each picture, from a street photograph to a portrait, should bring with it some emotional impact, something that carries the viewer beyond the frame."

oh, and world peace.

When I sell photos as art (large prints, canvas etc.) I will include a sort of artist's statement that is tailored for the photo. I find them hard to write because it always sounds a bit cheesy, but the clients seem to love them. Sorry, I don't have any examples handy.
There's no correlation between creativity and equipment ownership. None. Zilch. Nada. Actually, as the artist gets more into his thing, and as he gets more successful, his number of tools tends to go down. He knows what works for him. Expending mental energy on stuff wastes time.

I prefer to make statements on individual projects, rather than generalizations. I know I am interested in relationships and the concept of ecology.
Here are my current projects. The E-Burd Transformation project does not yet have a statement, but deals with the changing character of a neighborhood undergoing redevelopment (the relationship of decay and renewal).
"Human Ecology investigates the effects which we have on our environment within the urban ecology in which we live, as opposed to it's effects on either a global level or non-human life."
"Our Utopian Ideology investigate the effect of marginalization of social strata, and the effects which this has on urban ecology."
"Constrain and Structure explores the relationship and tension between plant life and nonliving environments."
"Complex Forms in Nature seeks to find complex forms and patterns within nature, and investigates formal and tonal contrast in naturally occurring species, while continuing experimental approaches in compositions."
"Context and Relationship deal with relationships within form and the context in which they exist with one another."75% of the internet is wrong. The rest is pornography.
