Just got the camera, learned some basic photoshop stuff over the weekend. C&C?

Just bought my first DSLR (T2i) and I'm in love!

Let me know what you think (composition, post processing, etc.)

I'm brand new to all of this so be gentle but more importantly, be honest. I'm here to learn and I know how to take a punch

    1. Had a few sunset pictures that were totally bad, read a little about HDR and thought I'd give it a try. Zuma Beach, Malibu, CA

    2. Picture of my friend who was with me at the time. She was being difficult! Hope the vignette and film grain doesn't seem tacky and/or cliche -- I was trying out new things in photoshop

If the pose in #2 had been different, like a portrait or some other angle where her face could be seen, it would be my favorite. I love the grain, the soft colors, and the birds.

Ninja edit: Let me revise my statement. #2 rocks.

She was being camera shy... and when I showed her the picture, she was like, "I like it!"

I told her the same thing, haha.

Response to your ninja edit: thanks!
