Do I need a lense to capture this type of effect?

If not, how do I achieve this effect?

IMO this is the work of a wide angle lens, may be a 10mm or a 18mm.

I looks to be a wide angle shot. I'm guessing 12mm-ish

Although not a car interior this link can help see the various lens effects.
