Upload pics from PC to SDHC card?
We received a Nikon coolpix s1000pj as a gift.
It is almost overwhelming with all its features, including the movie mode (which takes up much space on the memory card 4 gb)
It also displays on the TV directly from the camera
It is simple to transfer pics to computer.
But in order to view pics on TV, must use the camera with the Card.
Using the required Nikon Transfer or Nikon ViewNX I cannot find a way to transfer pic from PC to Card.....so for now I am not deleting from the Card.
OR can it not be done?
Help appreciated

The actual verbage will change depending on what operating system you use. Basically, with the camera plugged into your USB port, just go to "My Computer" and the camera will be represented just like any other drive.

upload from pc to sdhc card
I went to my computer first, now it is showing, XP but with the camera on, it is not appearing in the Nikon ViewNX or Nikon transfer.
It is not a choice with the Browse feature in the software
Is there a way to download pics to PC without using the Nikon software?Last edited by bhk; 12-27-2010 at 11:24 AM. Reason: more info

yes, I also tried copy/paste with no luck, so blaming on the software (/)
I just attempted to download from camera to pc using Microsoft wizard, worked great, looks like I may be able to use the MS wizard to move photos also.....
so will delete Mr. Nikon........(?)Last edited by bhk; 12-27-2010 at 11:39 AM. Reason: more info

As many people say about Nikon. First, they are an optics company. Second, they are a camera company. Third, they are NOT a software company.

Get a card reader. Put the card in the read and open from My computer, click on images and copy to my pictures.
Do what ever, you want, then you can put a card into the card reader and click on images in My pictures, click on copy and copy to the card.

upload from pc to sdhc card
Thank you, I have a card reader and it appeared to work.
it showed that I had transferred the picture from the PC to the card.
BUT when I put the card back in the camera, the picture is not there

are you using windows 7 and if so and you rotate anything the camera will no longer see the file.
If your sure you have all the images on your computer and have a backup copy, just fomat the card and then copy from the computer onto the card and see if that helps.

I am using XP, and finally got the transfer from Card Reader to work without formatting.
As new to this camera, lots of playing needed.
But I still wish the MS Wizard or similar would let me do it without using the Reader.

you only want to format the card after you have all your back ups made.
good news about it finally working.
