Looking for improvement
Hi all. Great forum here, and I intend to be a regular lurker, if not regular contributor. I've had two great gifts this year, one a Nikon D80, the other an incredibly gorgeous baby boy (not necessarily in that order). I'm putting together a Christmas list and would like to finish the year with 50mm lens. I'm hoping for the Nikkor f/1.4D (although the f/1.8 might be more affordable). What sort of improvements to the following shots can I expect with such a lens? These were taken in low light around 1/30 - 1/60 sec at F3.5 with the Nikkor 18-135mm AF-S. They seem a little grainy and depth of field could be a bit more dramatic, among other things.

Reason: need to read the FAQ on imbedding photos.

Been spending a lot of time on here!
Well they will be allitle sharper since you can dial down the ISO and speed up the app. with the 1.8. You should also be getting alittle more Boken(SP) with the larger F-stop.
