Question help me choose lens plz!!

hello!!! i dont know wich one to buy?!?! here my options,

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Canon-55-250mm-4-0-5-6-Telephoto-Digital/dp/B0011NVMO8/ref=sr_1_1?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1278714344&sr=1-1"]Amazon.com: Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras: Camera & Photo[/ame]

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Canon-75-300mm-4-5-6-Telephoto-Cameras/dp/B00004THD0/ref=sr_1_4?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1278714344&sr=1-4"]Amazon.com: Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras: Camera & Photo[/ame]

so am thinking the 75-300 is nice lens with metallic mount i belive not sure but without IS!!,, and 55-250 more $, plastic mount BUT its got IS , i just afraid if i choose 75-300 i am goint to havta use tripod everytime, and the reason why am choosing between those two because am on super budget lol i like prices ...... i would get 70-300 IS but its 650$.
also which one is more sharper?(55-250 or 75-300)

I wrote this elsewhere, but it may be helpful here, as well.

$197 EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM Introduced in 1999, this lens is optically similar to the non-USM 75-300 lens. The USM focus motor is slightly quieter and faster than the non-USM model.

$233 EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Introduced in 2008, this compact EF-S lens is designed for Canon EOS DSLRs with APS-C size sensors (1.6x field of view crop factor) like the EOS Rebel, XT, XTi, XS, XSi, T1i, T2i, EOS 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D and 7D. The quality of the outer construction isn't that great, but the optical performance of the lens internals is quite good for its reasonable price. One of its internal elements uses ultra-low dispersion glass (similar to what is found in "L" series lenses). If you shoot an image at 250mm with this lens, then crop it to the equivalent field of view of a 300mm lens, you'll still get a sharper image than any of Canon's EF 75-300mm telephoto zoom lenses can provide at 300mm. It is that much better.

$549 EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Introduced in 2005, this lens is significantly better than the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM that it replaced. The addition of an ultra-low dispersion glass element (similar to those found in "L" series lenses) makes the image quality of this lens much better than any of the 75-300mm lenses. It's also optically better than the 55-250 and it works on all EOS cameras (including EOS film cameras and EOS 10D, 5D, 1D and 1Ds), but it costs twice as much as the smaller 55-250mm lens does.

What lens do you currently own/use?

    What are you photographing?
    Just some of my thoughts...

I have the 75-300 non IS non USM and you have to use it at F8 to get marginal results. I say save your money until you can get a better lens like the 70-200f4 L [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Canon-70-200mm-Telephoto-Zoom-Cameras/dp/B000053HH5/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1278789737&sr =8-1]Amazon.com: Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras: Electronics[/ame]

Its quite a bit more but well worth it.

The 55-250 is a terrific first telephoto zoom. It works well close and at a distance. I have this and the 70-300mm IS USM. Although the 70-300 is clearly superior in many ways, the 55-250 is far better at closeup, near macro, shots of flowers, bugs, etc. And it's a lot lighter and is more compact.
