    mad broken lens mount

I was putting my camera onto my tripod and I guess the latch didn't click well or something and it fell off. right at the lens mount lands on a barbell weight handle and my kit lens flies off. I look at it and the little plastic part that screws onto the camera 1 side of it is broken. The lens still works if i hold it tight against the body but that is nto really practical. Is there a way to fix my kit? or would it just be not worth it and im better off saving up for something better

You may be able to find the lens mount part, and repair the lens yourself but I'm not sure. Sending it in to get fixed...is probably not worth it...but it wouldn't hurt to call and ask the Canon service centre for a quote.

Then again, maybe this is a sign...tell you to upgrade to a better lens. You can get a Sigma or Tamron F2.8 zoom for a pretty good price...check them out.

That is supposed to be a pretty nice lens...especially since the Canon version is 3 times the price.
