to buy or not to buy??

    I found this on craigslist.

Canon EOS Rebel 2000 film camera in EXCELLENT condition

    Includes 2 lenses
    Canon 28-80 lens
    Canon 80-200 lens
    Instruction manual
    A three-section camera case
    Canon EOS camera strap
    Lens cleaning cloth
    Lens covers
    Lens brush
    10 rolls of film

    for $150

Let me say that I need a film SLR and want something that I can use the lenses on the film camera as well as my Rebel XT. Is this a good deal or should I pass? What would you pay for this deal?
    Canon Rebel XTi
    Canon 430ex flash
    18-55 kit lens
    Sigma 70-300 DG Macro
    50mm 1.8

As long as everything is working well, that sounds like a good deal to me.
There's no correlation between creativity and equipment ownership. None. Zilch. Nada. Actually, as the artist gets more into his thing, and as he gets more successful, his number of tools tends to go down. He knows what works for him. Expending mental energy on stuff wastes time.

sounds like a good deal to me as well ... ask the seller about the shutter ... that is usually the first thing to break with the film EOS cameras. replacement of the shutter might cost as much as those 150 USD, at least that is what I spent recently in Europe.

He said everything works like new and is in excellant condition. I guess he is selling it so he can get a Rebel XT.

How are those lenses? I was wondering why he wasn't keeping them if he is staying with canon. Maybe he has more money than me...

never owned those lenses ... but for the money it cannot be a bad deal. if you do not like them sell them on ebay afterwards.
