error 99
Does anybody know how to solve an Error 99 problem on a 350d??
I have taken over 7000 shots and had my camera just under 1 year but I cannot take any more due to this error.
I have changed lenses, taken both batteries out and cf card out. After half an hour, replaced them all and it still won't work.
Any ideas, please...Canon Rebel XTi.... Never enough time....

I believe that ERR 99 is a general error code, or it's the lens error code.
The most common cause seems to be dirty lens contacts. Take off the lens and clean the metal contacts...a pencil eraser does the job well. Make sure the contacts on the camera are clean as well. There's no correlation between creativity and equipment ownership. None. Zilch. Nada. Actually, as the artist gets more into his thing, and as he gets more successful, his number of tools tends to go down. He knows what works for him. Expending mental energy on stuff wastes time.

Just done that and it still comes up.
If I keep my finger on the shutter release as I turn it on, it fires off shot after shot until I release it. Then the figure that shows how many shots are left, flashes.. And then the error 99 appears.. Also the cf light stays on.Canon Rebel XTi.... Never enough time....

Have you tried a different card?
From the sounds if it, you may have a faulty card or a problem in that area. There's no correlation between creativity and equipment ownership. None. Zilch. Nada. That does sound weird.
How about resetting, or reinstalling the firmware? There's no correlation between creativity and equipment ownership. None. Zilch. Nada. It should be in your manual

I think you can reset it, via the menu. To reinstall it, I think you may have to download it from Canon and use your PC, via the USB cord, to reinstall it. Maybe check to see if there is an updated firmware version for your camera. There's no correlation between creativity and equipment ownership. None. Zilch. Nada.
