I spend too much of my life on TPF!
6th Grade Girls Volleyball C&C welcome.
My daughter had her first volleyball game last night, so I took a few pictures. I had to crank the ISO up to 3200, 6400 was too grainy. Exposure was between 1/400 and 1/500. Aperature was 4.5 @ 200mm.
Lighting is terrible. Not quite candlelight, but close. No flash allowed, and I'm restricted to the stands. Either way, it's a fun time to try and estimate where the ball is going to be. Much less predictable than basketball or football.
That being said, I have to do with what I have at this point, I am shooting with a 75-300mm IS, and the T3i, all on Manual. I'd like a better lens, but no funds!

Still a newbie, can't move up!
Not too bad. I wouldnt worry much about the noise. You did the right thing by bumping it up to 3200 and 6400. Getting a nice zoom will only give you 1 1/3 more stop, which is not a lot. Thats why prime lenses are quite popular in indoor photography. I would consider an 85mm or 135 prime. The noise isnt bad at all. Just dont crop it much. Even if I were to shoot those with 85 prime, I will still have the ISO at 3200. Shutter speed trumps ISO.
