Photoshop Question: Sports Action Motion Blur

How the heck do you get GOOD sports action motion blur?

I've tried it by using the motion blur filter, but it doesn't look much like the really great long streaks I've seen in other images.

So far, I've selected several areas with the lasso tool and tried to blur the trailing edge of a LaCrosse player. I ain't gettin' it

Help Please!


EDIT: "MOTION TRAILS" that's what I want.
