Curved lines, as in lines on the image that are curved, or Curves in the Colors tab?

If you want to do graphic design tasks get the free vector application Inkscape. Draw Freely.

I haven't used GIMP, I got the educators deal from Adobe on a CS5/LR3.6 package. The more I use this combination, the more I am convinced that it is the best way to go. PS-5 is like the ocean. The possibilities for every function are endless. LR 4 (now) is a great way to organize and do light editing. You can jump back and forth between LR and PS easily too.
