    Flash & Bracket

Hi, I have the Canon 20D, and do mostly wedding and family portrait photography. I am wondering what I should use for a flash, and if a bracket is necessary. I want something that will be a good fill for outside photos, but also light up a photo in a dark dance hall. So my question is: What is a good flash for my 20D, and what should I use for a bracket, if one is necessary.

    Thanks, Lally

I use my strobes hand-held. It's what I grew up on, and I can always quickly put the strobe right where I want it.

I love my bracket. Took some getting used to, but it's been well worth the small (considerably) investment.

I have both a Quantum flash w/bracket and a standard 550 flash. For me, the 10D + battery grib + flash and bracket got too heavy and I stick with the flash and let my partner deal with the bracket We have had good results using it hand held as Pete does as well as just putting in on the hot shoe mount on the camera.
