Choice of Lens

okay here is one for you fine folks that have shot weddings before.

I have been asked to shoot a friends wedding on July 1st and have agreed to do so since I need wedding shots for my portfolio.

My question is this. From the lenses I have listed in my signature what would you go with? I am thinking the medium zoom since it is an outdoor wedding at 7:30 pm the light will still be good and I won't necessarilly need to get extreme apertures till later during the "reception" (actually a huge party)

I will have my entire kit with me but don't want to be fiddling with lens changes during the ceremony itself. The ceremony is going to be done in their backyard so my choice of backgrounds is a bit limited and I am thinking my shots will need to be fairly tight to eliminate as much background clutter as possible.

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

If I HAD to choose just one, I'd use the Nikkor zoom.

I might use the 50mm because I like the optical qualities of the prime over those zoom lenses. Plus, blurring out the background will be much easier with a wide aperture. You will have to be prepared to move about quicker than if you use the zoom though.

35mm 1.4. I *heart* that lens!

since you dont have the fixed 35mm ideal lens in my opinon the short zoom is your only real choice.
