Hello - New from ... Japan I guess
Hello - I am just getting into photography. I bought a Nikon D5000 today, with an 18-55 and 55-200. I currently live in Japan (my husband is stationed there), and that is part of why I want to learn to take better pictures. I want to really capture some of the things that I see over there, and my little Canon point and shoot really wasn't doing it anymore.
As I said, I just bought my camera today, and am still reading through everything. Its a tad more complicated than I am used to lol. I can't wait to start taking pictures! I would love to get any advice or tips, and will start uploading pictures for CC as soon as I figure out all the bells and whistles this camera has.

No longer a newbie, moving up!
Welcome from Japan (I guess - Ikego). I recommend getting out and practicing. I'm new and I try to take my camera every were I go. If you need anything as far as gear goes check out Yodobashi. There is one store located right outside Yokohama Station across the street from TGIFridays.
