    Post Hello Photographers!

    Hello everyone, my name is Ryan Im from beautiful Kelowna BC and I am brand new to photography. I have wanted to get into more serious photography for a long time now and after coming back from my first trip to Las Vegas with a memory card full of rather sub par point and shoot photos I decided to take the plunge and get my first real camera (well kinda real camera haha). I did alot of reading and asking around for what would be the right camera for me and ended up going with the Canon G12. I liked the fact that it has many of the functions of a entry level DSLR, it is small enough to carry around on most of my adventures, and I just honestly couldn't seeing myself buying more expensive lenses anytime soon. This forum has been so helpful to me already and I look forward to learning photography and posting some of my photos here.

    Welcome aboard. Kelowna is indeed a beautiful area.
    There's no correlation between creativity and equipment ownership. None. Zilch. Nada. Actually, as the artist gets more into his thing, and as he gets more successful, his number of tools tends to go down. He knows what works for him. Expending mental energy on stuff wastes time.
