Hey guys (new some help would be appreciated)

    hey guys,
i am 15 living in Melbourne Australia am new to photography and i would love some tips from you guys to help improve my photography. I have had only a few months experience and I am currently using a nikon d5000 (yeah i should have waited until the d5100 came out but i bought this last year..) with the stock lens, 18-55. here are some of my photos, they are on jpeg and i don't really know if RAW is better. i just left it on on jpeg lol.
    thanks in advanced!
P.S i also have a lens that goes up to 160, but since i like close up pictures it isn't very useful..
P.S.S i shrunk the photos to a quarter of their original so i can upload it.

DOF means depth of field. It has to do with aperture (you should know that by now). And use JPG, u are only a beginner, once you get a better understanding of photography and lighting, you can move to RAW. BUt you don’t have to use raw once you are experienced.
