They are certainly 'fooling about' but I am afraid the composition is sadly lacking (2 in front and 2 behind). A little more thought to setting the four family members in more relaxed and apparently random positions would greatly improve. What would also make a lot of difference here is a general brightening of the colours and some differential focussing to separate the subjects from the background.
