unless they were on a very, very tight budget.
So even you admit there is a place for a turd... not everyone is as fortunate as you terms of budget.
Well, of course there is a place for every turd. LOL I am just saying that if there is any way to splurge for the 50 1.4, life is ten times better.
And FWIW, there are two hobbies in my life that I spend money on, photography and demolition derby cars. Being married with no kids and having a great job affords me nice things, but you would never know that if you met me. I have had to eat my share of humble pie........every time the price of oil drops to be exact. I shot with an XTi and 2 of the crappiest lenses for along time until oil boomed again. I am just saying that money should be pretty much the only deciding factor in justifying the 50 1.8. (mark II that is). The mark 1 version is worth the money though.
