I purchased the Canon 10-18mm f4.5-5.6 yesterday for about $250. Considering what a great price on a lens that is, I couldn't pass it up. I was just wondering, is the 10-22mm that much better for the additional $300 it costs? Does the 10-18 have good picture quality in its widest focal length?

Thanks for any comments.

The 10-18 seems to have slightly more distortion than the 10-22, but the 10-18 is as sharp or sharper than the 10-22.

When the 10-18 came out, I was curious and read up lots about it. It is amazing bang for the buck. If you spent $300 more for the 10-22, you would be disappointed in comparison based on the cost.

Here's a comparison: Canon EF-S 10-22mm f 3.5-4.5 USM Lens Image Quality
