1989 lens

Just picked a sweet Nikkor 75-300mm f4.5-5.6 AF. No image stabilization, and all metal body with the old slide focal adjustment and manual aperture and tripod ring. Took a couple of pics to test it but nothing post worthy yet. But it inspired me: Let's see some pics with Nikon lenses pre-1990 if you have any! I'll upload when I get some keepers.

Great photos. I like the last football one. That face was a keeper! Those lenses didn't have any optic stabilization either correct? Do you remember what shutter speeds you were using on the 400mm off tripod to get decent shots?
 
Here's shot of the great Buddah of Kamakura taken in 1985. Not sure of the lens but it looks like it could have been a Nikkor 24mm f2.8.

I used the 400 on a monopod exclusively. I normally strive to have a shutter speed of 1/1000 of a second or faster for most sports shots done with the 400 MM and a 1.5 X crop body.
