    yeah so driveing home and saw this thought i woudl get a few fotos. no info on it yet so i don't know what is happening out there....

    Nasty black smoke. Maybe a vehicle or some sorts or a structure.

    Dramatic they are, all right. Wow!
    The vapour trails of the airplanes, the low evening light, the clarity of the sky and then this black smoke ... really cool.
    And it even indicates where there are different layers of air, since it can't seem to climb any higher but soon spreads horizontally. Cool.

    thanks for the replys everyone! found out earlier today that it was a controlled burn. so nothing special really, but i liked how the pictures turned out!
