Hey Abraxas (cool nickname :D), and welcome to ThePhotoForum.

Three nice photos that you chose as introduction-pics. I like all three of them.
The snow is the desert ... I gather it is a rarer sight?
Nice composition.
And some lovely light in the last which I find well composed, too.

Joshua Tree National Park?
Hasn't there been a TPF meet-up right there in that very park once?

Great job and welcome to the TPF!

Thanks! I appreciate the good reviews. I had two of my computers fry in the last two really hot months and have been digging through my backups looking for the worthwhile shots on my backups. The encouragement is incentive.

Snow is fairly uncommon here, but at 3,500 ft elevation we get it every couple years and it only lasts maybe 48 hours at the most.

I just found TPF a couple days ago and have enjoyed it immensely. Joshua Tree NP is sort of close and I get out there once or twice a month except for in the summer.

For some reason things just hang in my head sometime. This is one, and today I thought of why; Maybe it was this last spring? I was out with a botany class and at Cap Rock we ran into a group of 40+ with all the cameras and equipment in the world! I lingered, because I like to look at people's stuff. I asked what it was about and 'think' the reply was a forum meet.

Looked like fun...
