1. if your gonna do this, make the colored object the focal point. The plant is just distracting.

Thanks for your input, I will take that advice on board. This was my first go at selective coloring - I thought it was cool because the picture was supposed to show a contrast between new and old, and the selective coloring was an attempt to highlight the daffodils which would otherwise be lost in the black and white.

i just dont think the selective coloring works, at least for me. love the shot otherwise. the second shot is just really sad.
