2 Raptors and a Thief

A dark-eyed Junco owes it's life to me, as the hawk abandoned it's chase in the weeds when it saw me and flew into the tree. The eagle was half of a pair working on their nest. I had to struggle to get the shot as auto focus wanted to lock onto any one of the dozens of branches between us. I caught the squirrel raiding my bird feeder this morning.

This is a pic of the eagle pair and their nest. One of them flew right over me with a branch for nest repair in it's claws as I was driving.

I always enjoy the raptors and even though squirrels are sometimes regarded as a rat with a fancy tail, I wish we had a few close to where I live. Nice photos.

We have plenty of squirrels--red, gray, black. We've raptors, too, but they're harder to catch sight of.
