I'm looking at buying an additional lens in the 35mm range.

I was before looking at a 50mm but being that I have a D300, pics wont look like they were taken with an "standard" lens.

I see Canon has two options, Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L USM (which is WAY too expensive) and Canon EF 35mm f/2.0 in my $$ range.

What is your experience with the 2.0? Is it a good lens? I've read some reviews and they say that it is "acceptable for its price" (around $250).

You might also look at the Canon 28mm F1.8 or the 28 mm F2.8.
I've heard a lot of good things about the Sigma 30mm F1.4

I've heard the same, which doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.

Have you heard good things about the Canon 28mm f2.8? Thats even cheaper, and could be an option... It's not as fast, but not that bad for what I need it for... :)
