    Main Light at 10:00 o'clock
    Fill Light at the camera
    Back Light
    Hair Light
    HP 5470 Scanner
    Absolutely no post editing--except for crop!

    hrrrm. just some quick thoughts, did you try some shots without the glasses? They seem huge. I wouldn't really mind them in a casual/arty sort of portrait, but here they really seem to distract me here.

    My first reaction was: them glasses are big! ;)

    Yep! This is an old photo shot in an old basement studio with an old camera (canon A-1)

    Is the main light a little bit strong? Can't see the hair detail very well.

    The eye glasses seems old fashion, is this a old photo? :)

    Re the glasses - yep, my wife had a pair almost identical about that time, as did many people.

    The light on the hair isn't the main light. It's a separate "kicker" light designed to highlight the hair. It even looks blown out in the print, too. Should have used at least one whole stop less on the kicker. Hair lights should be subtle.
