Hi, I work night shifts at a geothermal power station. It's boring, but it gives me lots of time to take pictures. Here a 4 of my favourites. C&C welcomed.

#4 is fantastic. Dark, eery, cold & isolated. Love it.

It certainly looks like you have plenty of interesting subject matter with all those pipes and steam. Lots of reflections and patterns to be explored!

the last one is definately the best. The only thing that bothers me about the nighttime one is the angle.. i wish the composition wasnt so crooked.

#2 - The far right pipe is bent!

No really, great shots. I think I am leaning toward the bright #3 as my pick!

Not very many chances to see these areas...
    THANKS!

Thanks for the comments. I really like #4 as well, that's why I included it even though it's not very specific to a power station.

cnutco - yeah the pipes are all bent a lot, it's caused by expansion and contraction when they heat and cool. Some of the longer pipes can move by as much as a meter or so during heating or cooling. That's why we have the big loops shown in #1 - they are called expansion loops and they take up the slack between anchor points. All the pipe supports between the anchors are sliding supports .

D-B-J I don't usually go for crooked compositions, for me it just seemed to work in this case, I could be wrong about that though.

It really is a great place to photograph, especially at night and it's awesome having free reign to roam around wherever with nobody looking over my shoulder :) I'll put up a few of my other shots later.
