(taken from Iran hostage crisis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
The Iran hostage crisis was a diplomatic crisis between Iran and the United States wherein 66 Americans were held hostage for 444 days from November 4, 1979 to January 20, 1981, after a group of Islamist students and militants took over the American Embassy in support of the Iranian Revolution.

Hillcrest Memorial Park has 444 flags flying (443 American and 1 Canadian). One for each day they were held captive. It is starting to go down hill but is still a great place to go for a walk.

I couldn't get the flags to wave so I could capture what they were. One I know was a USMC flag but not sure of the other.

I wanted to get closer but I just couldn't. The guy looked as though he had just lost his wife. The grave was fresh and the flowers were still very colorful.

nice pictures. I wish there was less shadow on the eagle.

Love the 2nd one. The angle, the light, the one flag standing out on the left.
