I have stacks of memory on 8mm film and would like to transfer them to cd's. What equipment is available...

I know that many photo labs can do this for you. I would suspect that there is no easy way to do this at home other then just viewing the film and recording it with a digital video camera.

There's loads of really impressively expensive equipment to do this. I'd say you'd be better getting a conversion company to do it for you. It's probably going to work out much cheaper than buying equipment for one job.

I tried one commercial company who was supposed to clean up the film, etc. I had numbered the rolls in the order I wished them to transfer. They did nothing in regards to what they advertised and for me it was a waste of money. They did not respond to my complaint!!

tks all for your views
