A bunch more Kingfishers

    Tried to deal with the harsh, late-day light with a combination of fill-flash and under-exposing the ambient light a bit. It is undoubtedly desirable light for a lot of subjects, but the bright whites and dark blues make for a tough range of tonalities to deal with on slide film(which has a narrow exposure latitude)

    Anyhow, here are the results

    Wow, great captures of a cute lil bird. I think I like the second one best.

    Thanks, antarctican and doenoe. I should mention that I took these from a little camo tent (blind). Otherwise I would never get so close...
