Well went out to Wildwood in Kent with a host of people from ephotozine forums (I think I was the youngest there!).
The day went well, though the animals were either sleeping or not in residence (hibernating) so a slower shooting day, but great light for some good shots all the same - one shot even won me a bag on the day too! :)

edit - kit used Canon 400D, Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS + 1.4 teleconverter
flash when used was speedlite 580M2 + lumiquest softbox

anyway here they are:

unedited version of this shot one the prize on the day (I think it was 6th place - which is many places better than I thought I would be!)

nice warm noses those foxes have

I saw Wildwood and though it was Wildwood, FL.

Some really nice captures with nicely soft diffused light.

Really like that fox and deer one.

Which one was the winner?

Thanks :)
yep and that red fox did not move until we were heading out the door (cameras put away at that stage sadly) - cheeky little devil!

As for the winning shot it was the Stork - the shot was selected on the day and had to be unedited - of all the shots that and the sleeping wolf looked best (to my eye on the camera LCD) without any eiditing

Fantastic captures....

Nice shooting!!

(I understand your frustration at just seeing them curled up. "Been there, done that".)

You have to be one of the best animal photographers on these forums.

Thanks all :)

sam - nope I don't think I am - got a long ways to go yet (the others wildlifers are just hibernating ;))

I don't know, whenever I open one of your threads I expect greatness, and in turn, am rewarded with such.

I'm going to need to go get a bigger hat now ;) :)
