After fogged in airports cancelling flights, bustrips to Chicago, another missed connection in Santiago Chile forcing us to fly to Buenos Aires, clear customs with guns and hightail across town to another airport in 60 minutes to catch another flight to Cordoba (we made it but our baggage didn't) we finally arrived in Cordoba Argentina
The Miles and Miles van picked us up and after arranging to get our luggage to the Estancia in the AM we made the one hour drive to Estancia La Catalina
)
Arriving there around 8:00 we met our host Peter Miles, made introductions and had drinks
After drinks we sat down to what was to be a fantastic 5 course dinner
The desert course
More drinks and then off to bed.
The morning found us refreshed and coffee and breakfast was served.
Our luggage and guns arrived and we changed into our hunting clothes, assembled our guns and loaded into the van for the drive to the days hunting area. We arrived at the base of a ridge rising up into the hills, transfered our guns and daypacks to a 4x4 crew cab and headed up a steep and rocky two track. We almost lost Dave who was sitting closed tail gate at one point as the truck lurched up the hill. About two thirds up we met and were asigned our birdboys.
We all headed off to various spots along the ridge following our assigned bird boys who were toting cases of shells.
The shooting and bird #'s were fantastic
(Various shots of the ridge)
The skies were filled with birds like this all day
The object of our attention...The eared Dove
After about 2 hours we were herded back to the pick-up truck were lunch was served
(pics of lunch)
After lunch there were cots for naps if you were so inclined or you could sit around and BS .
Then it was back up the ridge for more shooting.
(various pics and titles)
Finally it was time go. We headed back to the estancia to clean-up , soak in the whirlpool our have a massage if so inclined,
Again we convened for drinks before dinner and then dinner was ready. toasts were made and awards were presented.
One night we even had some entertainment.
Then we headed off to bed. This was repeated daily.
Here are some random pics of the trip
