I agree Brent, the head and main body were white so were a little blown out. In PP I darkened that area resulting in a slightly odd look or cartoony. Looks a little bit like Wile E. Coyote.

Sorry wasn't referring to your pp. The insect itself looks cartoony.
 
nice! I like the crane fly (aka the daddy long legs). Some of my favorite trout flies were based on these.

Crane fly! Thats what I was trying to remember. But Crane flies are true flies and not spiders. Daddy long legs are actual spiders.

ok, after a quick google, apparently harvestmen can also be known as daddy long legs as can cellar spiders, every day is a school day!

Huh. So to put it all together a Daddy Long Legs can refer to:

A. Crane Fly (AKA Mosquito Hawk, Mosquito Eater) which is an actual fly

B. Harvestmen which are an arachnid but not a spider, but only the ones with actual long legs

C. Cellar Spider which is an actual spider

All I know is ID'ing birds is much easier.
