A couple of flower shots from last week

Took these last week at the local botanical gardens.

I like the light hitting the flower in the first shot, but the background is too distracting in my opinion.

Nice shots.I like the second one.I just want to request that please share some more flower shots form the gardens if possible.I am a big fan of natural and wild life photography.Please share some more detail and your own tips for such amazing photography.

these are great captures. I would call the first one- 'fire in the room'
and the second one- 'thumbnail WORLD'

Unfortunately where the first flower was located, that was the only good shot I could get. I don't like the background either, but the plant is lit up enough that the background isn't a huge distraction for me.
