A couple of Portraits Lighting tests.

I have some specific close up requests from a senior portrait client and was testing some lighting techniques that don't require me to blind him so I did these self portrait tests.

Is the lighting hard/not hard enough?

I think the 1st and 3rd are the best.

Quick question: Will your subject have a hat on, too? If not, the lighting might turn out different sans-hat.

Yeah, he specified it and sent me an example from which he got the idea. So I was trying to come up with some ideas of my own for the theme.

I think the lighting is pretty good especially in the first one no ugly shadows getting in the way and for men I think you need harder lighting than you do for women.
