This is my first attempt at Dodge and burn.. think I over did it?

Nice set. I can't speak to dodge and burn. I have found it's easy to go heavy.

These look pretty good. The dodge and burn looks dramatic, and not too over-done. A little bit too much top space in the three-person shot, makes the bottom feel crowded, so I might crop off the sides a bit and "pull them up" in the frame, in a manner of speaking.

Wow nice job!!! In addition to Darrel's comments above I'd probably either crop out or burn down substantially the light spots at the top on the 2nd shot. As is they're annoying and distracting from the focus on the lovely family.

Looks nice. I like the lighting.

In the second one, the lighting (specifically the bright dots at both top corners) is a little distracting.

Did you do skin smoothing, as well? The skin, especially in the second photo, looks a little like plastic to me (see man's ear as an example).
