something a bit different... most of my posts lately have been birds, but i also enjoy photographing old "warbirds" at the local airport whenever they fly. here are some from a mini-air show yesterday. weather was lousy - cloudy with occasional showers - and the sky was terrible for photos, but i managed a few good shots...

thank you! actually, no tripod was involved... these were all shot freehand from ground level. the planes fly only 100-200 feet above the ground, and with proper perspective and angle, it does often look like i'm up there with them, but i'm not.

Awesome shots.
The Corsair was one of my favorites from growing up. Of course the TV show Black Sheep Squadron kinda helped with that.

Great set. Crap, now I have to learn about angles and perspective using a camera prior to my first airshow. I'll start banging my head against the wall now to build callous.
