It's more cloud formation photography than landscape, isn't it. So would these be called "cloudscapes" then? Lovely light on the clouds.
You could throw the lasso tool around the bottom area of 2 (land) with a nice, big feather, and brighten that part selectively, and then go inverse and carefully work on the sky-part by getting some contrasts (I'd do that via levels, others prefer the curves) and bring out those clouds some more.

i agree about the 'cloudscapes', but when i do landscapes i just like to see a big sky.
