I guess the big point I'm worried about is, "How obvious is the manipulation?" and also "What parts look manipulated to you?"

This is after correcting the oversaturated sunset colors.

Looks to me as if you have sunset lighting which is already very warm... and the increased saturation made it come out very orange.

    can you post the original?

soft blur on areas of her right cheek? slight halo along hair where it borders the sky. were you after a low sat/low contrast look, or just trying to lower the orange tint?

Low sat look but I'm not as concerned with the color correction as I am with the how obvious the structural changes I've made are. I agree, the cheek is kind of obvious and I'm trying to make it not so much, and that halo can probably be cleaned up or continued around the hair to match. Thanks Osmer_Toby.

I'd say your edits aren't very obvious. You kind of have to know photo editing to see them. Any 'laymen' wouldn't notice it I don't think.

    And since I am kind of a laymen...I don't notice a thing. :D

I'd try to correct the tilt of the horizon a little though, cause my eye keeps straying to that. Furthermore, hmmm...can't find much wrong with it. I like the desaturized tone actually.

I'm not sure whats been changed but the soft focus/blurriness of the face is distracting in the extreme... almost annoyingly so. The photo also appears to be a bit washed out.

Lyanna, I'm glad to pull one over on you. : )

mentos_007, Not quite, but I've gotten that before on this one. Hmmm.

Scott, I'm going to see what I can do about making the corrections more solid in the right cheek/jaw area. If the whole face is bothering you though, then I've got a problem.
