Welcome to ThePhotoForum, Olivier!
You are joining with a very good (yes: great!) photo of a very strange fly. How come you know its Latin name?
Are you from France?
Do you happen to be friends with David, who is here as "astrodav"?
Your photographic styles are similar.
i'm trying to learn to take macro photos of insects also, but i have a question about your technique, after you kill the fly, how do you get it to stay still on that grass thing without falling off? my flies always fall off or get blown away by the wind..... ;-)
And here I was practically killing myself trying to shoot live insects :lmao: . Glad I didn't attempt to shoot those wasps I saw last night. If you kill it first, do you take it to a taxidermist or stuff it yourself?
I meant no insult calling it a good shot. That was just the word that I could get out at the moment because I was so amazed by the strange creature. So I retract "good shot" and replace it with :hail: .
