I see exactly what you mean. I'm sure this is fairly common when shooting macro for the first time, I was setting for the shallowest dof I could. It will be helpful for me to play with the middle of the depth rather than just the extremes.I like #1 but the DOF is so short that it almost seems to be sectioned off to much
Ya know, it was flower shots on this board that made me want to go out and get a macro lens. As I was shooting, I was thinking to myself, 'what the hell am I going to shoot that hasn't been shot a million times before'? But then I figured that I should just shoot what feels good to me, and to hell with its redundancy. But I am left wondering what other subjects people like to shoot with their macros.Flowers are so WILLING objects. And beautiful at that.
However, I have by now taken so many photos of almost each blossom that was out to be seen last year - I feel a little overfed by my own flower photos...
