I have looked around and seen Alien Bee has som good deals. I want a good basic kit that allows me to grow. Anone have experience with this comapny? Recomend a good kit? Yhis will be a grow on type. Minimal use to begin and go from there. Just something I'd like to try. Thanks for any and all responses.

If you do a search, you will see that people are happy with Alien Bees, but some say that they have inconsistant WB from low to high power settings.

If by basic you mean "cheap" or "affordable", look at www.strobist.com

Elinchrom makes a comparable light, the dlite 2 and dlite 4 with slightly higher w/s for the equivalent AB model and a much consistent power output.

I'll check them out. I'll also do a bit more research on lighting in general so I am not totally in the dark... pun but no pun.
