    Hello!

I'd like to do a complete silhouette for a maternity shoot I'm doing for a friend but I'm not exactly sure how to go about doing it - should I have a backlight only? Or have a backlight and a low side light?

What do you recommend? I want her to be completely silhouetted with the shape of her body very distinct.

Thanks for the help! I need every bit I can get! :)

For a complete silhouette, just light up the background/backdrop and don't put any light onto the subject.

Some problems that you may have is if you have too much light bouncing around the room...it may light up the front of the subject a bit. Or if the background is too bright, it may may 'leak' onto the sides of the subject.

Looks like someone put a single red cristmas light behind her, or perhaps a darkroom safelight.
