Achieving similar colors and lighting

I was checking out http://notionphotography.com/ and really liked the contrasting with the darker colors and the brighter colors on some of his pictures. It seems so rich and vibrant - reminds me of David Lachapelle's work (but of course not as crazy and imaginative!).

Any tips on achieving similar colors? I know the photographer uses digital but was wondering if you could post-process a certain way or use certain filters to achieve such vibrant colors.

If the initial exposure is good, color saturation and contrast can pretty much be tweaked endlessly in Photoshop. I'd study up on lighting and post-processing techniques as they relate to glamour photography. I don't do glamour photography (I'd like to!), but this site has good info that's helped me learn some stuff to apply to my own less exciting portrait shoots.
