This woman was my actress for a television commercial I shot recently in Charlotte, NC. It was shot with a lensbaby.

Hmm, not come across the 'lensbaby' before. Produces an interesting effect, that initially I thought must be a photoshop trick.

Maybe it's because I haven't seen the effect before, but I find it a little bit distracting, pulling my eye away from the intended subject.

Certainly good for creating an old fashioned look though, like a pinhole camera or something like that.

I like it! I know that some portrait photographers are using tilt/shift lenses to get this funky DOF effect. Good job getting it done with a little alternative equipment.

It's very much like a pinhole camera. But really more like a medium format bellows-type camera where you can shift the plan of focus. Not a new trick, but an old one.
