Adding copyright

I hope this is the right area. I recently purchased a macbook pro and it came with aperture 2. How do I add a copyright symbol to the photo. I have found the symbol. In metadata I can add what I want it to say but when I view the pictures I can not see the symbol. Can you please help me out. Thanks
