Jon, I have to agree that a crop from the bottom would improve the composition and would bring the main subject into compliance with the rule of thirds. I'd also work on the unrealistic sky color. Otherwise a nice photograph of a beautiful location.

I appreciate all the feedback, and, upon looking at the image with new eyes, I agree with it.

So, here's an attempt to improve the photo. I'm usually pretty comfortable with composition, but I struggled some with this one. Still not sure I'm satisfied.

As for the sky, my new edit is pretty faithful to what the sky looked like. It was a weird weather day.

In case anyone is wondering, this was taken on Mackinac Island, Michigan.
